AEV's HighMark Fender Flare kit for 2010+ HD Ram Trucks is not just another set of aftermarket cutout fender flares, this unique kit includes not only the flares but all the details to finish the job professionally, including new wheel liners, structural steel reinforcements, additional marker lights and will allow the fitment of up to 41" tires with only 3" of suspension lift*. The Ram HD trucks benefit immensely from a larger tire footprint and this kit is just the ticket, providing all the benefits of a large tire off-road, while maintaining a low center of gravity for safety and optimized handling on the road. The AEV Highmark Fender Flare Kit is designed to work together perfectly with AEV’s 17x10 Katla Wheel, Premium Front Bumper and 3” DualSport SC Suspension System.

The Highmark Flare construction is extremely unique, in fact the only vehicle that uses a similar construction is the Mercedes Unimog, and even at that, the AEV kit uses a much stronger version. While most aftermarket flares are simply a thin single sheet of vacuum formed plastic, AEV chose to use rotomolded polyethylene (similar to a whitewater kayak) for the ultimate in strength. This kit simply can’t be compared to anything else currently found in the aftermarket. These flares are a fully enclosed, ¼” thick highly durable part that provides approximately 4.5” of additional coverage per side.

Designed and manufactured using OE-level processes, the Highmark Fender Flare Kit gives your truck aggressive styling and an imposing stance with a factory fit and finish that are second to none. Tested and verified to function correctly between -40F and 140F, these flares won’t let you down. Additionally, the AEV Highmark Fender Flare Kit complies with US DOT passenger vehicle width regulations and includes auxiliary front and rear LED marker lights. Optional AEV Rear Splash Guards are also available to comply with state and local regulations.

AEV Highmark Fender Flares are proudly made in the USA and are available as a complete kit or a standalone front set intended for customers who are using a utility body, cab chassis, custom bed or camper configurations.

My question can be answered in the installation guide, do you have a copy? - Front HighMark Flare Installation Guide: http://www.aev-conversions.com/isheets/AEV30118AA%20Front%20Flares.pdf  and Rear HighMark Flare Installation Guide: http://www.aev-conversions.com/isheets/AEV30119AA%20Rear%20Flares.pdf

What years Ram will the flares fit - Our intention is that they be used on 13.5 3500 and 14+2500 because thats what our suspension fits. The flares are designed to have the front wheel moved forward approx 1.5" and most other suspensions do not do that. So if you want to use them on a 2010-2013ish Ram, you're on your own for suspension, just know that you'll need to move the wheel forward somehow.

Do I need to run the AEV Ram DualSport suspension? - Not necessarily, but the AEV suspension was designed to integrate with the flares perfectly and run up to a 41x13.50R17 tire. The suspension is designed for people using there truck for real world work and expedition use and compliments the large tire nicely. The AEV Ram DualSport suspension also moves the front axle forward approx 1.5" to help with tire clearance and keeping the lift height at only 3". In order to run an aftermarket suspenison, you'll need to relocate the axle forward 1.5" at a minimum. Really can't make any suggestions on this, you'll be on your own.

Do they fit the 4500-5500 - Yes, again we do not have a suspension to work with these trucks, but hey, good news! The 4500-5500 trucks have a different front suspension that is already 1" forward, so figure out how to move it forward another 1/2" and get some lift and you'll be good to go.

Can't I just run 37s with no lift? - Well, besides these flares being HUGE compared to a 37, the flare was designed for the wheel to be 1.5" forward, so not only would the tire look small, the tire would be in the wrong spot.

Can I run the flares on a 1/2 ton - Just don't do it...technically the fender is the same, so you could run them on the 1/2 ton with a 6'4" bed from 09+ but we have never tested them and you would need to run some sort of aftermarket front bumper and the 2500 headlamp fillers under the headlights. Oh, and don't forget you'll need a lot of lift (since the 2500 already sits about 3" more than the 1500) and you'll need to move the tire forward, so while the flares will bolt to the fender, its not recommended. Don't call for technical assistance on this one!

I have a flatbed/camper/cab chassis/etc, I only need the front flares - No problem, we sell a front only kit as well as kit with all four.

Do these work on all boxes? - They are designed to work with the 6'4" and 8' boxes as well as the 6'4" box with the Ram Box cargo system.

I see the production flares have LED lights, why? - Any vehicle over 80" wide must light up the widest portion of the vehicle, hence the amber LED lights in the front flares and the red LED's in the rear flares. Also, note that your vehicle should have clearance lights in the roof to be 100% legal. These are available through your dealer if they weren't original equipment.

Can these be used with any bumper? - Maybe. The flares where designed to be used with the AEV bumper with a short corner. IF you choose to use an aftermarket bumper of a different brand you may need to trim the bumper in order to work with the large tire size. You might also not be able to use the HighMark flare extension pieces that bolt to the bumper.

Can I use the stock bumper? - Yes, sort of. You will need to modify and trim your stock bumper considerably, but the flare extensions should mount to the OE bumper with no issues.

Does the AEV Raised Air Intake work with the flares? - Yes, there is no interference

What wheels are used? - We offer a special AEV Katla wheel in a 17x10 with approx -1/2" offset designed especially for the HighMark Flare kit. Any wheel thats similar should work ok, but its nearly impossible to guarantee that without testing.

Is Hydrosteer assist required? - Yes and No. No if you're just planning on driving around and doing light off-roading. However, if you're planning on airing down to low pressures and doing more serious off-road, you'll certainly want to use a ram assist type steering kit. We use the PSC kit with good results and have special lines and brackets that we will make available shortly.

Can I paint the flares? - No, the nature of the polyethylene material prohibits painting, it just won't stick. The flares are molded in a black texture that matches all AEV accessories.

What parts do I need to convert a AEV dualsport 37" front suspension to a 40-41" tire and suspension? - The only difference in the suspension is related to moving the axle further forward. If you already have the standard AEV DualSport 3" suspension, you'll need a new thicker driveshaft spacer and a couple other small parts. Call in to one of our salespeople to get the parts, I'm not sure there is enough demand to list it on the website as a separate part.

What parts do I need to convert a AEV Front Bumper when upgrading from 37s to a 40-41" tire? - If you already have the standard AEV front bumper, you'll need our short corners. Call in to one of our salespeople to get the parts, I'm not sure there is enough demand to list it on the website as a separate part.

Is this an easy kit to install? - Its set up for a professional body shop to do, but the answer is definitely yes if you have experience, tools and time. There is obviously some metal triming involved, its all relatively thin sheetmetal that cuts easily and we've provided templates where needed to make the job easy and smooth. The hardest part is probably trimming the front of the cab sill, but there we've molded a plastic template to even make that part easy. We figure 8-10 hours to install for a professional shop.

What size tires can I run? - Well, depends. We have successfully used the 41x14.50R17 Interco IROK with great results and is currently the largest tire we've fitted with our wheel and 3" suspension. To run a tire that wide requires a very slight amount of steering stop adjustment in order to clear the swaybar and control arm however nothing noticeable to the driver. The smoothest and quietest tire we've tested in the 40" range is the Toyo Open Country MT. Other tires we've tested are the 40" BFG (no longer available) and the Goodyear MTR. The flare itself was modeled around a 42" tire, but without going to more lift or bumpstop etc, the headlamp seems to be the limiting factor. Anything over a 41 IROK, you'd be on your own.
